L.I.E.S...

Why do people Lie??

  • Greed - for power, for advantage, for money, for admiration

  • Fear - we are sometimes driven to lie by fear - usually of what will happen if we tell the truth

  • Acceptance - no man is an island. We find ourselves doing whatever it takes to be accepted, to be liked and appreciated

  • Habit - compulsive liars lie compulsively because they are used to it

I won't deny it, I do lie sometimes. I think everybody has been into lying once or more in their lives.. I know it's bad and its against what God wants me to do...
it's sad to say, sometimes it also feels good...
Have you ever been into a situation that you have no other choice but to lie?
So hard to decide, especially when you're conscience and the conviction of the Holy Spirit acts on you...

"What a lie is according to Webster’s dictionary:

1.) To make a statement that one knows is false, especially with the intent to deceive.
2.) To give a false impression or action or false statement, especially with the intent to deceive.
3.)To make a false statement in order to evade the truth
.
4.)The invention of a false story or excuse in order to deceive.

Perhaps for a Christian, a Biblical definition of lying could be summed up in this statement:

Any time our word does not agree with God’s Word."

The Bible says, there are seven things that God hates:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. (Proverbs 6;16-19)

So God hates lying... It's there... What would God do about it? What's in it for those who lie?

Revelation 21:8

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

*If we would continue on lying... It would be a forever spent on the lake burning with fire and sulfur.. Can you imagine forever?? Its gonna be for infinity...

As Christians we need to ask the Lord to forgive us if we are guilty of lying or deceit. It is a very serious matter with God when we lie. (We can read of the incident of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts chapter 5 in the Bible. They both fell dead when they lied to the Holy Spirit.)

Only the Lord can help us break free from this bond that make us sin against Him... This is a struggle not only I nor you face.. This is a struggle of everybody, especially Christians... We should pray for each other for the Lord to give us strength and more strength to overcome this struggle...

Please pray for me...

Thanks for reading..

GodBless us all...
